Leading Dutch photographers Inez & Vinoodh have been tapped to guest edit the "Fashion" issue of prominent photography quarterly Aperture magazine. The couple, who met in Amsterdam when studying fashion design, have been collaborators since 1980s and shaped the photography industry with the fantastical and evocative images. They have shot campaigns for basically every major brand you can think of, including Chanel, Givenchy, Calvin Klein, DKNY, Estee Lauder, and Hervé Ledger among numerous others.

The husband and wife duo, who have previously lent their talents to publications like Vogue and W Magazine, will present new images from some of the most prominent fashion photographers alongside a retrospective of their own work. Inez & Vinoodh will also showcase influential images and ads that helped them craft their aesthetic.

When discussing his choice of guest editors, Michael Famighetti, Editor of Aperture Magazine, explained that he was interested in the form of fashion photography and that "Inez & Vinoodh’s practice is always reflecting on the medium of photography itself." The pair's extensive portfolio depicts the evolution of their carnival-esque vision and their pioneering of hypnotic digital photo manipulation.

This edition, featuring Richard Hamilton's Fashion-Plate on the cover, is available now on Aperture's webstore and features photography from Inez & Vinoodh, Annie Leibovitz, Bruce Weber and Daniel Arnold among others.
