Alternative just dropped the lookbook for its Fall/Winter 2014 Basics collection. Shot by New York-based photographer Harrison Boyce, the photos present a clean aesthetic that showcases the "soft, simple and sustainable" advanced essentials the label is known for against an urban setting that has become Boyce's trademark.

The urban environment provides the perfect backdrop for the Basics collection, which features a variety of pieces perfect for the transition into cooler temperatures. The hoodies, tees, and joggers feature a mostly neutral color palette that's complemented by patterned details on a few pieces including a henley and a crewneck sweatshirt. Alternative is definitely a brand that's evolving the genre of foundational gear, to the point that these goods can either serve as a platform for more attention-grabbing pieces, yet are strong enough on their own to make up a full fit.

The label recently published an interview with Boyce on its blog where the photographer speaks about his love of capturing the city of New York through images: "There’s so much going on, there’re so many things to explore and see. I try to find a way to visually document now what might translate well in the future, and really to just enjoy shooting."

The collection is available to shop now at Alternative stockists, stores, and online.
