For Los Angeles-based musician Mayer Hawthorne, style is not just what you throw on in the morning. Style is his life: a perfect symbiosis between his music and fashion that makes him who he is.
His most recent music venture, Jaded Inc., with good friend 14KT, is the next evolution of his musical and stylistic tastes. Born out of a mutual adoration for the Post-Punk and New Wave movements of the early 1980s, and an obsession with Ghetto-Tech and Booty music that penetrated the airwaves and rave scene in Detroit in the 1990s, the two have formed a brand-new sound they call Beat Wave.
So whether he is in the studio making new sounds, crate digging at record stores, or cruising with friends around Los Angeles, Mayer can be found wearing his favorite black Levi’s 511s.
