We can all agree that IKEA is awesome, but navigating the showrooms can feel a bit daunting if you don't go in with a plan. Building a cohesive theme for your space is a lot easier when you have some sort of design inspiration, and what better places to start than with Tumblr and art history?

Tumblr goddess Cecilia Azcarate (who previously paired your favorite rappers with their pre-16th century art doppelgangers) recently came up with the idea to blend pre-16th century art with IKEA's online catalog. The blog, titled IKEA B4 16, is a part of Azcarate's 24-hour series, where she creates and shares different projects in a single day. For IKEA B4 16, she takes paintings from before 1650 and inserts them into the product pages of furniture similar to what appears in the artwork.

The blog also features links to the actual products so that you can achieve the look in your own space. Buying a BEKVÄM stepladder because it resembles the ladder in a painting of a crucified Jesus is the ultimate swag move, and it's a lot less offensive than buying your mom a table that you recognized from an adult film.
