Italian artists Benedetto Papi and Edoardo Santamato of Invasione Creativa have combined two great things to make an epic one. Their “Mov(i)e To World Cup” series features World Cup stars as the protagonists of major motion pictures. Each film poster prominently displays a soccer player running, jumping, kicking, or simply looking like a badass against an instantly recognizable pop culture backdrop.

These images weren’t created haphazardly. Each national team is appropriately matched with a movie that takes place in its country: Japan’s Keisuke Honda towers over the burning Tokyo skyline in “Goalzilla;” England’s Wayne Rooney gives a smoldering glare in “Goal Save the Queen.”
