Since the lable's early days, the threads of rock culture have been intertwined with Saint Laurent, sewn by the likes of Hedi Slimane and Yves Saint Laurent himself. From dressing Mick and Bianca Jagger at their wedding to outfitting Daft Punk in recent live shows, the French brand has always been adept at identifying rock stars and aligning them with of-the-moment trends.

So tangled is the fabric of Saint Laurent threads with rocker DNA that the brand has created the Saint Laurent Music Project to further integrate these individuals into Hedi's creative vision. A series of portraits shot by Hedi himself, the campaign profiles lauded musicians styling themselves in SL drapes, essentially telling their own story via the brand. In addition, each artist is commissioned to create an original soundtrack for the upcoming Saint Laurent shows. Graduates include Courtney Love, Marilyn Manson, BB King, and the aforementioned Daft Punk.

Next up in line: Marianne Faithfull, whose elegant disposition provides an apt canvas for the clothes. Contextually she's even more relevant; Faithfull made a name for herself in the '60s through her music (and a relationship with Mick himself) and has continued to influence the scene in years since.
