Remember a few weeks ago when Pablo Picasso's former Paris studio was in danger of becoming a luxury hotel? Good news: it looks like all the open letters from members of the art world to France's prime minister and Paris' mayor were effective.

The Grenier des Grands Augustins, where Picasso lived and made art for 19 years, has recently been made a National Landmark. This makes it a lot more costly and time-consuming for the studio's legal owners to redevelop the space, which is a relief considering the historical value of this Paris studio. It's the very spot Picasso painted his famous Guernica painting.
