Tom Ford Launches E-Commerce, Making Life Even More Convenient for the Absurdly Wealthy

Is widespread availability what's best for the burgeoning, once-exclusive brand?

Today, Tom Ford has officially announced that it will now be offering e-commerce within the U.S. So if you are ballin' out and/or hate Molly, today's the day you celebrate.

The announcement continues the unprecedented growth the brand has experienced in the last couple years. Very recently, only the most savvy of menswear aficionados knew the designer; one Jay-Z song later and the brand is a household name worldwide (such is the power of Hov). It also helps to be making James Bond’s suits—apparently they used over 60 just in Skyfall’s opening scene.

While Tom’s checking account is most likely in a decidedly better order, going from highly-coveted and very sought-after brand to a more accessible business is always a strategy that waivers the thin line between cool/niche and exposed/mainstream.
