As the year comes to a close, everyone is looking back just to see what the hell happened in the past 12 months. Google compiled its own year-in-review and broke down several categories on its annual Zeitgeist list. We already know people still don’t know how to tie a tie.

Well, according to the search engine, Versace is this years most searched brand. Coming second is Michael Kors, which found itself on top last year, according to rival search engine site Bing.

Spikes in results might be in part due to the constant name-dropping in lyrics. Last year’s was obviously Nicki Minaj dropping “"Couldn't get Michael Kors if you was fuckin' Michael Kors" on Big Sean’s Dance (Ass) single. This year's brand-centric hit was Migos’ Versace, which mentions the fashion house a whopping 48 times on the song. This alone probably made Google analytics feel like it was taking crazy pills. Just another reason why Versace was one of this year's best brands.

Also making the list is Givenchy, which had its share of shine this past year thanks to Kim Kardashian’s Met Gala dress. Search results were also probably aided by the flurry of memes the floral number sparked.
