A new art fair opens in Shanghai this Thursday, November 28, and has attracted a few massive names in the international art community, despite a lack of press for the nascent gathering. Among those exhibiting at the new fair, dubbed ART021, are White Cube and Galerie Perrotin, two of the most consistently cutting-edge galleries on the planet.

Other exhibitors include the Shanghai galleries ShanghART, James Cohan Gallery, and Aike Dellarco, along with White Space, Ink Studio, the Hive Center for Contemporary Art, Long March Space, Beijing Commune, and Red Gate Gallery from Beijing.

The fair takes place at Shanghai’s NIB Building within the Rockbund complex on the Bund, just a short distance from the Rockbund Art Museum. A few events are scheduled across the breadth of the fair as well:

November 28
3 p.m., Young Collectors’ Forum

November 29
2 p.m., Showcase on private museums
4:30 p.m. As Seen 2 Book Talk

November 30
2 p.m. "Contemporary Art Collecting — the shift from wall paintings to installations”
4 p.m. Daisuke Miyatsu: How an ordinary Japanese salaryman achieved his collecting dreams
