Bono's RED charity auction is scheduled for later this month and collectors and philantropists alike are eager to see the products that the curators Jony Ive and Marc Newson have designed for the event. The master designers tackled a wide range of products including a Leica camera, Range Rover, solid gold Apple earbuds, and an Hermès Cavale saddle, to name a few. In the video below, Ive and Newson discuss the year-and-a-half long process of choosing and designing the products and their personal views on design in general. They speak in-depth about the Leica camera project and the various prototypes they went through to achieve the perfect one-off to be auctioned at Sotheby's along with the other objects. All of the proceeds from the auction will go to fight HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria.
