An adaptation of Kevin Wilson's book The Family Fang.

Jason Bateman will direct and star in a film adaptation of Kevin Wilson's bestselling novel The Family Fang, a story about married performance artists gearing up for a big final act with their disapproving children. Pulitzer Prize-winning writer David Lindsay-Abaire is charge of the script for the film, which is set to begin principal photography in 2014. Bill Block of QED International calls Bateman and Kidman a "poignant pairing" for the project. We're not sure how serious the source material takes performance art, so Kidman and Bateman could have to flex their acting muscles... or it could just be the stereotypical depiction of performance artists that we are used to seeing on the big screen, only time will tell.
