As part of the largest exhibition to ever take place at the de Young Museum, David Hockney is showing over 150 drawings he made using an iPad. Hockney, who was recently honored at a LACMA gala alongside Martin Scorsese, was a major figure in '60s Pop Art, and it's pretty incredible how he continues to push the limits of art and perception in a whole new era.

You may know Hockney as the artist who called cigarettes "delicious" and wrote this piece in the Guardian about how he smokes for his "mental health." You may become familiar with him based on this exhibition ("David Hockney: A Bigger Exhibition," open through January 20). Either way, get to know the god (and start by watching this video about the exhibition).
