When we have a sore throat, we become hooked on cough drops, leaving a trail of empty wrappers wherever we go. Ricola has released a new line of packaging design that captures how we feel when we're sick. The well-known Swiss cough drop manufacturer worked with creative agency Jung Von Matt, computer graphics studio The Scope, and illustrator Julien Canavezes to launch the campaign. The packaging features illustrations of people who seem irritated by throat issues. Based on a traditional candy wrapper design, the layout places the characters' throats on the twist of the wrapper. Ricola suggests that you "Unwrap Your Voice" and enjoy a cough drop. The clever design makes us feel relieved—releasing the characters from their twisted discomfort—before we've even popped the throat lozenge in our mouths.
