London-based graphic designer Ollie Willis has begun to develop a new series of putt-putt golf courses, inspired by the typography. Though the designer himself is not so into golfing, he recognizes a similarity between the sport and creating typefaces since both activities demand careful, precise design.
Willis' first design is in the shape of a lowercase "g," which includes sharp turns and rounded paths that allow for a golf ball to pass through. While the "g" course is the first in the series, the designer plans to build golf holes featuring each of the 26 letters of the alphabet. Players could have an extra challenge spelling out words and even sentences.
