They say a picture is worth a thousand words. Well, when it's Kareem Black behind the lens, that number no doubt gets bumped up a bit.

The Philly native has been snapping pics since age 10, when he found himself photographing pigeons for a school project. Today, his subjects are just slightly more high profile, having shot the likes of Rihanna, Kanye West, Victor Cruz, Jamie Foxx, Leonardo DiCaprio, Kerry Washington, Russell Westbrook, Bruno Mars, and even Jenna Jameson.

So what inspires an artist whose portfolio is already so impressive? Pretty much everything, it seems. "I try and be a sponge," Kareem says. "I'm inspired by walking down the street, I'm inspired by my friends. ...I will seek out things that turn me on."

Like all artists, Kareem strives for perfection. But like all great artists, he knows that goal is unattainable. "I think what drives me is never being happy. I think that's what drives every artist." While Kareem is loath to rest on his laurels, it's quite clear that there is a lot he should be happy about.
