Christie's is set to auction Jean-Michel Basquiat's painting "Dustheads" (1982). As many of you will recall, Basquiat has been name dropped by many hip hop artists including Pharrell, Rick Ross, and Mackelmore. Three videos have been made to coincide with the auction, including one that actually includes the "Thrift Shop" rapper.

In the film that appears below, Macklemore talks about his love for the legendary painter and performs the song "Ten Thousand Hours" that includes the lyrics: "I love Basquiat, I watched Keith Haring/ You see I studied art/ The greats weren’t great because at birth they could paint/ The greats were great cause they paint a lot."

"Dustheads" is expected to rank in big bucks, estimated to go for $25-35 million. You can also see the other two videos explaining Basquiat's strong influence here and here.
