The Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) never disappoints when it comes to presenting unique and interesting content and exhibitions. Recently there was the video on MOCAtv with Los Angeles artist collective FriendsWithYou that toured the group's studio and explored their work as well as the motives and inspirations that inform it. More recently still, Urs Fischer's installation of giant plaster and resin raindrops have been very well received at MOCA.

To continue the winning streak, Chris Johanson is next as he prepares for a solo exhibition entitled "Within The River of Time Is My Mind." The exhibition opens June 29 at the MOCA Pacific Design Center and will feature the artist's paintings, sculptures, and found wood installations. The exhibition is deeply introspective and philosophical for Johanson, as he explains the theme as "the personal river of life connected to the greater river of life."

Along with the exhibition, Chris Johanson and book publishing company Phaidon will be releasing his self-titled monograph, the latest in their "Celebrated Artists" series.
