The Museum of Contemporary Art(MOCA) in Los Angeles is having some problems. The museum is facing a lack of resources and struggling to maintain independence from wealthier, more powerful institutions like Los Angeles County Museum of Art or the University of Southern California.

In order to remedy the situation, MOCA is close to making a five-year agreement with the National Gallery of Art in Washington to collaborate on programming, research, and exhibitions. The deal wouldn't immediately solve the museum's financial woes, however their efforts to raise money may be more successful.
