By now, Argentinian artist Tomas Saraceno is well-known for his experiential installations that are at the cutting edge of technology, architecture, and engineering. One of his reoccurring projects, 59 Steps to Be on Air, is a hot air balloon made of garbage bags, transparent tape, rope, and bicycle wheels that comes with a set of instructions explaining how to make one.

His intention was to allow people the fantasy of being able to fly in a way where they feel empowered. Each hot air balloon takes 24 hours to complete, making it possible for anyone to figure out and use if they are determined to do so.
