Using transparent polymer solar cell technology, researchers at UCLA have developed glass that could ideally be used in the construction of skyscrapers, computers, iPads, cars, and more to collect solar energy. The image above shows a normal piece of glass on the left, with transparent polymer solar cell glass on the right. Importantly, the cells can be produced in high volume at low cost, making this a green innovation that can hopefully help the world become more sustainable sooner. [Slate]
