Created by Jiyeon Song, the One Day Poem Pavillion explores how light and shadows change with location and the passing of time. By using “a complex array of perorations, the pavilion’s surface allows light to pass through creating shifting patters” in the case of Song’s pavilion these perforations create different phrases, depending on the season and placement of the sun. The variation of phrases creates a unique experience for each viewer. Song’s experiment has the potential to be used within an architectural environment, to supply users with transitional information without the dependency on a power source. [ArtCenter]
