The Department of Public Works in San Francisco is gearing up to break ground on a new skatepark in the Mission. It has taken two years to get the project rolling... but initial plans prove the wait may just be worth it. At a cost of $3 million, the SoMa Skate Plaza will sit right under Central Freeway and is concieved to both show appreciation for the local skate community and clean up the area. [Inhabitat]
