The Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor boxing match next month is so hyped that fans will believe just about anything. Take, for example, Islam Badurgov, a professional bodybuilder from Kazakhstan, who managed to fool hundreds of fans in L.A. with his impression of McGregor, down to the beard, the iconic tattoos, and signature sunglasses.

Even though Badurgov looks way more built than the 155-pound McGregor is and it doesn’t sound like he was even trying to fake McGregor’s distinctive Irish accent, he did nail his disguise and did really look like the UFC fighter from far away. He descended upon Muscle Beach in Santa Monica with a big entourage, a camera crew, and enough confidence to lure just the right amount of people to point their smartphones in his direction. Eventually, a huge crowd formed… and we all know how smart and critical huge crowds of people are!

Badurgov impressed his audience with several shows of strength on the bars by the beach, and some fans went absolutely bonkers just at the sight of him and immediately asked for photos without so much as exchanging pleasantries (I’m looking at you, lady at 3:18). After the beach, Badurgov and his mates cruised around Santa Monica in a convertible, which was enough to lure fans out of their cars and into traffic for the prospect of a selfie with or an autograph of the McGregor lookalike.

The prank was clearly a resounding success and only proves that people are so excited for Floyd Mayweather to fight (the real) Conor McGregor in Las Vegas on Aug. 26th that they'll make themselves look like total fools. But in all honestly: #same.
