Steph Curry said James Harden should win NBA MVP this season earlier this week, and Russell Westbrook responded to it on Thursday.

Earlier this week, Steph Curry did a series of interviews with different TV networks. And when he wasn’t talking about little boys trying to score a date with his daughter Riley, he was talking about who should win the NBA MVP award. He’s won the last two MVPs, so he seems as qualified as anyone to make the selection.

While speaking about the MVP award on The Dan Patrick Show, Curry said he would "probably" pick James Harden over Russell Westbrook at this point in the season. His reasoning for it? Harden is on the better team and has turned the Rockets into what appears to be a true contender in the Western Conference.

"It’s just you have to award the better team, record-wise, as it’s kind of gone in the history of the MVP award," Curry said. "So I think James will probably edge him out just off of that."

On Thursday afternoon, Westbrook was asked for his reaction to what Curry said—and he gave pretty much the most Russell Westbrook answer possible. He didn’t seem to care one way or the other what Curry said and didn’t put a whole lot of stock into his MVP selection.

"I don’t care," Westbrook said. "It don’t matter what he say. Who is he?"

He is the guy who stole your spot on the All-Star team… well, we’re guessing Westbrook knows who Steph Curry is. But we get his point. Westbrook has steered clear of the MVP conversation for much of the season, and it doesn’t sound like he’s going to change that anytime soon.
