Myles Garrett speaks with reporters at NFL Combine.

Year in and year out, there's usually nothing important to take away from the NFL Combine. After all, it's difficult to take it all that seriously when arguably the greatest player of all-time, Tom Brady, had one of the worst Combine performances ever. Still, every now and then, there are prospects who greatly elevate their stock with a strong showing.

On Saturday, Washington wide receiver John Ross showed off his top flight speed by recording a 40-yard dash time of 4.22 seconds, breaking the previous record of 4.24 set by former NFL running back Chris Johnson in 2008.

On Sunday, Texas A&M edge rusher Myles Garrett made a strong case for becoming the No. 1 overall pick in this year's draft with a strong showing at the NFL Combine. After a remarkable 33 reps at the bench press drill, Garrett participated in the 40-yard dash and raised some eyebrows.

Garrett's 40-time was faster than the top two quarterbacks at the Combine.

Garrett wasn't done there. He also posted a 41" vertical, which is better than any pass rusher since 2005.

Myles Garrett got 41" vertical. Top verticals for first-round pass-rushers since 2005
Vic Beasley 41"
Mario Williams 40.5"
Merriman/Mack 40"

To give you an idea of how impressive that vertical is, take a look at these tweets.

Myles Garrett, a 272-pound man, posted a 41-inch vertical at the NFL combine. The best vertical at the 2016 NBA combine was "just" 38.5.
