Ben Simmons Shoots Down Injury Doubts By Putting On A Pre-Game Dunk Show in Indiana

The Philadelphia Sixers' rookie shows that his recovery is coming along well.

Philadelphia 76ers’ rookie Ben Simmons may not have played a minute of NBA basketball yet, but that hasn’t stopped him from putting on a show for his fans.

Simmons, who has been shut down for the season by the Sixers due to a Jones fracture of the fifth metatarsal in his right foot suffered in September, showed that his injury is slowly healing with the explosive dunk prior to the Sixers’ game against the Indiana Pacers.

It is questionable whether Simmons actually might’ve been able to make his debut this season, but with the future in mind the Sixers chose to take caution and shut down their star prospect for the entire season.

While Simmons hasn’t been able to play, he has been able to travel with the team on their current road trip and has resumed a normal training schedule according to Head Coach Brett Brown.

However, Simmons’ lack of play as a rookie hasn’t caused his fanfare to take a hit, with the former LSU product posting a picture of a Sixers staffer having a Ben Simmons-themed haircut on his Instagram account.

The past few years have been unkind to Sixer fans, however with a healthy Simmons alongside consensus rookie of the year candidates Dario Saric and Joel Embiid, the future looks a whole lot brighter for one of the league’s most famous franchises.
