The Cleveland Cavaliers head into Madison Square Garden on Saturday night, and it could mark the final time that LeBron James squares off against his good friend Carmelo Anthony while Anthony is a member of the New York Knicks. Over the last few weeks, multiple reports have surfaced regarding Anthony being shopped around to teams like the Cavs and the Los Angeles Clippers

On Friday, LeBron briefly spoke with reporters about Anthony's situation, stressing that regardless of where his friend ends up, James just wants him to be happy. “I just want the best for my friend,” he said, per Al Iannazzone of Newsday. “No matter what it is. If he’s there in New York or if not, I just want the best for him; I want him to be happy."

Amid all the trade rumors, 'Melo has performed exceptionally, scoring 26 points or more in six of the last seven games. James admits that being in a good situation easily translates onto the basketball court, which could hint at Anthony's desire to stay in the Big Apple. "The game comes very easy to you when you’re happy where you are," Lebron said. "If he’s happy in New York, maybe he wants to be elsewhere, I’m not sure. He’s done a lot for that franchise. He did a lot for the Denver franchise as well. We’ll see what happens.”

Of course, time will tell whether Anthony stays in New York. The NBA trade deadline is February 23 at 3 p.m. ET.
