Watching a young fan finally meet Messi and refuse to leave his side before a match. Peak adorableness.

Earlier this year, a photo of a six-year-old kid from Afghanistan named Murtaza Ahmady wearing a Lionel Messi Argentina jersey made out of a plastic bag went viral online.

On Tuesday, with the help of the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy, or SC, Ahmady was able to meet his favorite player in Qatar when FC Barcelona faced Al-Ahli in an exhibition match. Before stepping onto the pitch, the little boy met Messi for the first time. “I’m very happy to have met my hero," he told SC's official website. "It is a dream for me. I can’t wait to see Messi at the game, it will be the first time for me in the stadium.”

Upon seeing the image, Messi worked with UNICEF to send a signed Argentina jersey to the boy, but the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy wanted to take it a step further. In addition to meeting the Barcelona star, Ahmady was selected to be one of the player escorts to walk out onto the pitch. You know who he walked alongside.

As the other player escorts made their way off the pitch, Ahmady stayed by Messi's side, even joining in on the team photo. With the match just seconds away from getting underway, Murtaza refused to part ways with his idol. Eventually, the young boy was taken off the field, but we completely understand his desire to never let this moment end.
