If Minnesota Timberwolves star forward Karl-Anthony Towns were to make his own best albums of 2016 list, 4 Your Eyez Only by J. Cole would be at the very top. In an interview with Sporting News, Towns shared the names of a couple artists he listens to prior to games before praising Cole's latest project. "I’m listening to Drake, Kanye, Mac Miller and Kendrick Lamar to name a few," he said. "It gets me in the mood to handle business on the court. I think J. Cole had the dopest album of the year. His music makes me think."

Towns also came to the defense of Drake and Kanye West. "People clown him for not picking a team, but he’s just a sports fan and he’s hilarious," KAT said of Drizzy being a bandwagon sports fan. "He’s friends with so many people and always good energy." As for ’Ye, Towns wants everyone to know that the way the tabloids portray the 39-year-old rapper is different from the real Mr. West. "He’s really smart and funny. Don’t let all tabloid stuff fool you," he confesses. "He’s really good people. I’ve gotten to spend a lot of time around him, and he’s way cooler than you could imagine."
