Elizabeth Ruiz, the woman who filmed herself having sex with Von Miller during a trip to Cancun, Mexico back in June and then allegedly attempted to sell the video to him through his lawyers, is claiming that she didn't keep the sex tape on her phone in order to extort the Broncos star. Rather, she told TMZ Sports during an interview on Tuesday, she kept it for masturbation purposes.
Miller filed legal documents against Ruiz in early November and claimed that she tried to shake him down for $2.5 million in exchange for the tape. But Ruiz—who says that Miller was aware that she used her smartphone to film their sexual encounter—disputed this while speaking with TMZ Sports. She said that Miller was the one who asked her to film them having sex and that she refused to send it to him when he asked for a copy of it after they returned home from their Cancun vacation.
"When I finally gave in, I was like, 'OK, fine we’ll record it,'" Ruiz told TMZ Sports. "So I pulled out my phone and we started recording. The whole time, everything was consensual. After the trip, Von did call me and we talked briefly. He was like, 'Do you still have the tape?' I was like, 'Yes, I do.' He was like, 'OK, cool, send it to me.' I was like, 'No, I'm not going to send it to you because I don't want it to get out.'"
Further, she said that she never asked him for any money for the tape and accused Miller's lawyers of making an offer for it. "I never ever went up to Von to ask him for $2.5 million or $1," she said. "My attorney told them what the situation was, that there was a tape that had been recorded in Cancun, [and] they threw out the first offer, and my attorney counter-offered with the $2.5 million."
And when she was asked why she didn't ever get around to deleting the video from her phone, she responded by saying that she kept it for her own personal use. "Well," she said, "because I used it to play with myself."
