The Cubs won the World Series for the first time in 108 years on Wednesday night, and do you know what Chicago president of baseball operations Theo Epstein did to celebrate?
Well, he of course started by taking the field to congratulate his Cubs players. He walked around Progressive Field giving out handshakes and hugs and telling everyone how great they played during Game 7. But then, Epstein—who joined the Cubs in 2011 after helping the Red Sox win the World Series in 2004 and 2007 as a member of their front office—decided it was time to let loose.
As you can see in the photo above, Epstein popped a bottle of champagne with Bill Murray and guzzled it down. Then, he did this interview with Murray that quickly turned into him spraying champagne all over the actor:
Later, he also did this interview with Fox 32 in Chicago—after apparently enjoying a lot of that champagne—and cursed live on the air while talking about the people who started congratulated him on winning the World Series long before the game was over:
"People are texting me, 'Congrats,'" Epstein said, "and I'm like, 'F*ck you! This is baseball. Anything can happen!'"
And when it was all said and done, he let it be known that he will not be working today. Or tomorrow. Or the day after that. Instead, he’ll be, well, see for yourself:
