Who knew that Serena Williams was such a diehard Belieber? Sure, there was that video she posted of herself singing along to "Sorry," but did anyone know that her love for Justin Bieber runs much deeper than just a fondness of his songs?
On Friday, Ellen DeGeneres played a game of "Who'd You Rather?" with Serena, bringing up names, like Jake Gyllenhaal and Idris Elba. Then, DeGeneres brought Bieber into the equation, and it was game, set, match! "Well, what do you mean?," Williams asked, before emphatically reaching her final decision. "I am definitely going with Justin Bieber!" Even as Ellen continued throwing out names, Serena had already made up her mind, adding, "You know what, it's always gonna be Justin Bieber."
Williams also discussed her documentary, Serena, which was released earlier this year, her cameo in Beyoncé's Lemonade film, and the time she missed her note when appearing on stage at the Formation World Tour. “All I could think was, ‘Serena, don’t miss your note. Don’t miss your note.’ And what did I do? I missed my note,” Williams recalled. “I was like, ‘God dangit!’ But then I was like, ‘This is so fun. I don’t want to leave.’ So I was trying to stay out there an extra beat. But eventually they told me in my ear, ‘Serena, get off the stage!’”
It's oddly comforting to know that even someone like Serena can still feel pressured to not mess up every once in a while.
