Back on September 19, Jay Cutler suffered a thumb injury during the Bears’ second game of the NFL season against the Eagles and was forced to sit out for more than a month while it healed. Chicago went 1-4 in his absence, and despite the lack of success, there were a lot of people—both inside and outside of Chicago—who said the Bears might be better off without Cutler moving forward during that time period. Cutler has been an average quarterback for the Bears in recent seasons, so the thought in some circles is that they should cut ties with him after this season and start looking for their quarterback of the future.

That might ultimately be what the Bears decide to do, but on Monday night, Cutler played his best game of the season—and his best game in quite some time—when he threw for 252 yards and a touchdown against the vaunted Vikings defense to lead Chicago to a 20-10 win. Cutler completed 20 of the 31 passes he threw, protected the ball and didn’t turn it over, and looked like the quarterback the Bears hoped they were getting when the season started. It led Cutler’s wife Kristin Cavallari to send a shot at all of the Cutler haters out there:

Can everyone shut up now? 😜

Bears coach John Fox is reportedly still ready to move on from Cutler at some point in the near future, and it’s important to remember that this is only one win for the Bears and one impressive performance from Cutler. He could very well come crashing back down to earth in a couple weeks against the Buccaneers. But for now, he and Cavallari should celebrate. These kinds of performances have been few and far between recently, so why not rub it in the haters’ faces?
