Back in September Darius Miles, a former third overall pick who made $62 million in his NBA career, filed for bankruptcy. Included in the bummer report was the fact that Miles asked the court to sell off his property so he could pay his creditors, listing $1.57 million in liabilities as well as $460,385 in assets.

Fast forward a few months and the auction seems to be in full swing, as TMZ Sports got ahold of court documents that list the possessions Miles intends to hock in an effort to try and lighten his pretty substantial debt. Those possessions include: An autographed Mark McGwire baseball bat, PlayStation and Xbox consoles, large screen TVs, roughly 1,000 DVDs and CDs, firearms, and an autographed LeBron James jersey.

The story of Miles's career (and post-career) are a cautionary tale that we've heard all too frequently from professional athletes. After going into the NBA directly out of high school back in 2000, Miles played a combined nine seasons with the Clippers, Cavs, Trail Blazers and Grizzlies. His first season got his career off to a solid start, as he averaged 9.4 points and 5.9 boards per game to make the NBA All-Rookie First Team. However he was frequently sidelined with injuries, and microfracture surgery caused him to miss two full seasons--from 2006 to 2008. By the time he was 28 he was out of the league.

The auction to sell off his last few possessions will be held on December 14 in Illinois (more details will presumably follow on that location, Illinois is kind of big after all). According to TMZ the LeBron jersey is expected to go for $2,000+, depending on the condition it's in.
