The night before missing the Sacramento Kings' team flight to Kentucky on Friday for a preseason game, Ty Lawson was spotted in a Vegas nightclub. Lawson, along with teammates, Willie Cauley-Stein and Ben McLemore, as well as boxer Adrien Broner, were at Drai's nightclub on Thursday night, perTMZ Sports

While Cauley-Stein, and McLemore made it on time for the flight, Lawson was a no show, and Kings officials want to speak with him, so he can explain why he was absent. Since joining the Kings, Ty has received rave reviews from teammate DeMarcus Cousins, but the organization took a low-risk chance on the embattled point guard with a one-year, non-guaranteed contract for this exact reason.

Last year, Lawson was arrested for a DUI on two separate occasions, and checked into rehab. After reportedly receiving calls from NBA teams who were unwilling to make any long-term commitments, Lawson ended up signing with the Kings after the league suspended the team's starting point guard, Darren Collison, following a domestic violence misdemeanor charge

Earlier this month, Kings head coach Dave Joerger praised Lawson's play, and hoped that his off-the-court issues were in the past. "He went through some pretty tough times these past few years. But I’m hoping it’s behind him, because if he is to continue in this league, this year is it," Joerger told the Sacramento Bee. "I hope he can say, ‘I’m ready. I’m back on track.’” It looks like, unfortunately, that may not be the case.
