Ken Pagan, 41, has been arrested for allegedly throwing a beer can on the field during Tuesday's MLB Wild Card game between the Toronto Blue Jays and Baltimore Orioles, according to TMZ.

Pagan surrendered to Toronto Police Department authorities after police identified him as the lead suspect and released his photo to the public. Police "strongly encouraged" Pagan to seek legal advice and turn himself in.

Pagan is being charged with one count of mischief and is scheduled to appear in court in November.

Pagan, a sports journalist, said he has been legally advised to not say much about the case, but he says police have it wrong. He channeled his inner Shaggy: "wasn't me."

The fan appeared to throw a beer can at Baltimore’s Hyun Soo Kim as Kim made a catch on the warning track in the seventh inning, with the game tied at 2. It seemed Kim couldn’t tell what happened—his back was to the fan—but center fielder Adam Jones was absolutely livid.

"That’s about as pathetic as it gets," Jones said after the game. "You don’t do that. I don’t care how passionate you are. Yell. Cuss. Scream. Say we suck. We’re horrible. We get it. We’re the opponent. We completely understand that... I hope they find the guy and press charges."

The Jays won the game, advancing to the American League Division Series, then beat the Rangers today 10-1 to take a 1-0 series lead.
