Following his team's 113-110 overtime win over the Phoenix Suns last night, Oklahoma City Thunder center Steven Adams called the performance of his teammate Russell Westbrook "standard." Okay, maybe it was standard for a player like Westbrook, but it was also historic. For the first time since Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in 1975, the Thunder star point guard racked up a 50+ point triple-double with 51 points, 13 rebounds, and 10 assists.
Westbrook's game had some on Twitter wondering if he was human, and rightfully so.
Of course, when it comes to Westbrook, you've gotta take the good with the bad. In this case, the "bad" came in the form of 44 shots out of the team's 96 total attempts. "Tonight, I think I should've [trusted teammates] a lot more, honestly," Russ said, according to ESPN. "Throughout the game, I've got to find ways to not just trust them but get them the ball where they can score the basketball." But hey, no one's really complaining—especially after a win, right? Plus, he can do what he wants, no?
So, what did Russ think of his monster stat line? "[I'm] hungry, I'll tell you that much," Westbrook said.
