Chris Broussard, the ESPN NBA reporter known for his sources, polarizing religious views, and sometimes questionable reporting (see: DeAndre Jordan's free agency in 2015), is leaving ESPN for rival Fox Sports 1, according to Sporting News.

With the NBA season less than two weeks away, this seems like a big "get" for Fox Sports 1. ESPN is absolutely stacked in the NBA reporter category, with Rachel Nichols, Brian Windhorst, Zach Lowe, Marc Stein, and many others aboard Team Worldwide Leader. That's not to mention ESPN's impressive rolodex of NBA figures—folks like Magic Johnson, Hubie Brown, and Jalen Rose—who appear on studio shows and game coverage.

Broussard should add some credibility to Fox Sports 1's fledgling NBA coverage. Sporting News speculates Broussard could be used alongside former NBA player Jim Jackson on FS1 coverage.

“We attempted to re-sign Chris and want to thank him for his contributions to our NBA coverage and wish him the best," ESPN spokesperson Gianina Thompson told Complex. "We have an impressive array of NBA voices who will continue to help make our NBA coverage thrive.”

Late Friday night, Broussard commented on Twitter about his new job.

Sporting News reports Broussard will be used more as an opinion voice—think Skip Bayless—than as a front-lines reporter. Bayless and Broussard are two of the former prominent ESPN figures to jump ship to FS1. Erin Andrews and Jason Whitlock are among the others.
