If Allen Iverson is ever interested in becoming a coach, Tyronn LueΒ has an offer with the Cleveland Cavaliers waiting for him.Β

During his Hall of Fame induction speech this past Friday, Iverson acknowledged Lue, and shared a story of how their friendship started. The season after the 2001 NBA Finals series between the Philadelphia 76ersΒ and the Los Angeles LakersΒ where the infamous step-over took place, TyronnΒ and A.I. were once again getting under each other's skin. β€œAnd I said, β€˜The only reason you got that little, $5 million a year is for running around after me,’" Iverson said. "And the man looked at me and said what I would have said, β€˜Thank you!’ And we’ve been like this ever since.” After the 2001 NBA Finals, LueΒ signed a two-year deal with the Washington Wizards.Β

TMZ SportsΒ recentlyΒ caught upΒ withΒ LueΒ at LAX to not only verify Iverson's story, but ask him about a possible future in coaching for A.I. "Yeah, he can come coach with me," the Cavs head coach said, when asked if he could picture the 2001 NBA MVP as a coach one day.Β

While Iverson has said in the past that he would never want to be a coach, an opportunity with a Cavs team already sporting a Big 3 ofΒ LeBron James, Kyrie Irving, and Kevin LoveΒ seems like a great (and easy) opportunity. Of course, we don't know how A.I. would feel about wearing a suit every night.Β
