George Hill, the former Indiana Pacers point guard who was recently traded to the Utah Jazz, was walking around Salt Lake City with his family earlier this week when he spotted a camp of homeless people. Hill saw men, women, and children wearing dirty clothes, sitting on blankets, and storing their belongings in carts.

He thought about when they might have last eaten. Then he went to Wendy's, picked up some burgers and fries, and delivered the food to the group. He said he also mingled and listened to their stories.

Hill told the story on his Instagram.

While yes, George Hill does have a lot of money (he'll make $8 million from his contract this year), he of course did not have to do this. Most people could afford to buy a handful of burgers and some fries to help out the homeless.

The point is that Hill did it. He took the time out of his day to encourage and support the homeless. It's an applause-worthy action whether you're a professional athlete or, like most of us, just a random person walking down the street. So kudos to Hill.

In June, Hill was a part of the multi-team trade through which Indiana landed Jeff Teague. It seems Hill has taken a liking to his new city and, after this, it's likely the city will take a liking to him as well.
