It's not every day you receive a personal invitation from the President of the United States to join him to watch the Rio Olympics in person. Someone needs to tell that to Tim Duncan.

While working for the NBA House in Rio, Duncan's former teammate Bruce Bowen spoke with SI.com and revealed that he had a chance to watch the Games live—and he even received a message from President Barack Obama to potentially sweeten the pot. However, Duncan, who has always marched to the beat of his own drum, turned the opportunity. Why? Because, in true Timmy style, he simply didn't want to do it.

PerSI.com:

"Tim, his legacy is always going to be more of the foundation guy in San Antonio and a guy that wasn't ever concerned with the limelight," Bowen said, "but more importantly concerned with others, making sure that they could really reach the most out of their potential.

Never change, Timmy. Never change.
