Since getting selected by the Houston Texans with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, Jadeveon Clowney has been sidelined a number of times with a slew of injuries. In his two seasons in the league, Clowney has played in just 17 games. It's an unfortunate circumstance, but Houston Chronicle writer John McClain still found a way to joke about it on Twitter earlier today.

After teasing an upcoming story on Clowney returning to practice following a sore knee that forced him to miss a week of practice, and sit out the Texans' first preseason game against the San Francisco 49ers last Sunday, McClain fired off the following tweet:

His tweet has been met with plenty of mixed reactions. Many people have criticized McClain for being hurt because Clowney denied him an interview opportunity while some have praised him for his "burn." Meanwhile, two members of the Texans—DeAndre Hopkins and Cecil Shorts III—have responded to the writer's poor "joke." Texans wide receiver Jaelen Strong also showed his support by retweeting Nuk's message.

McClain has yet to respond, but that apology should be released any minute now.
