While the attention has been firmly focused on Australia’s number one draft pick Ben Simmons, Thon Maker has used the NBA Summer League to put up some serious numbers of his own.
After racking up 15 points and 13 rebounds on debut against the Cleveland Cavaliers, Maker shifted to a higher gear in his second game, registering 17 & 17 against the NBA D-League Select team.
Maker registered 17 points on 7-15 shooting, including a three pointer, to go with 2 blocks. Despite the solid numbers, Thon’s 6 fouls showed there is still a raw element to the teenage baller’s game.
The Bucks were questioned by many when they drafted the largely unknown Maker with their 10th pick. After two standout Summer League performances though, the mood has definitely changed.
Looks like the Bucks fans are warming to Thon a little quicker than they are to fellow Aussie Matthew Dellavedova.
