After taking about a month off following Skip Bayless’ departure from ESPN, Stephen A. Smith returned to First Take on Monday morning with his new co-host Max Kellerman, and it didn’t take him long to return to form. Stephen A. and Max started off the show by talking about Kevin Durant getting booed before Team USA’s game against China on Sunday night, but after that was done, they moved on to the topic of Aldon Smith’s alleged weed video—and things got intense.
If you haven’t seen it yet, Smith appeared to film himself smoking weed while shooting a live Periscope video about two weeks ago, which is obviously a big no-no when you consider that the Raiders linebacker is currently serving a one-year NFL suspension as a result of an August 2015 DUI arrest. And Stephen A. got really worked up about the video, which shouldn’t come as a surprise given his history of yelling "STAY OFF THE WEED!" at professional athletes from his First Take pulpit.

- "If he is guilty of such a thing, if this is him in the video, I think he should banned from the NFL. I think the crime should be stupidity. There should be a category of flagrant stupidity. The NFL should get with the NFLPA and they should put a category in the collective bargaining agreement that Roger Goodell should oversee. It should be 'Flagrant Stupidity.' The Aldon Smith Rule!"
- "According to the reports, while we don’t see the face of Aldon Smith—although it’s his account—we don’t see his face. It’s almost like the dude that robs the store and you come in there with the same outfit and then you leave and then you turn around and the only thing that’s different on you is the little mask to cover your face, but you still wearing the same outfit."
- "Stay off the weed! Listen, I know Snoop Dogg and various others who are unapologetic about the fact that they smoke weed, okay? Nobody is judging them but so much. You know why? Because it’s not hurting their wallets. In the case of NFL players, whether you like it or not, the rule is the rule. And when you consider the fact that Aldon Smith has lost millions because of something like this, this is why I will go back to my original point: Stupidity, a category of stupidity, should be implemented into the collective bargaining agreement."
SAS also shoehorns in a story about a time he watched a player who was obviously high take the court in the middle of an NBA game (he starts it at around the 9:30 mark).
Aldon Smith contends he was not the person in the Periscope video smoking weed, but if the NFL finds out otherwise, do you think the league should ban him for life for "stupidity" as SAS suggests?
