NASCAR veteran driver Mike Wallace and his daughter were  the victims of a brutal attack by three men after leaving a Rascal Flatts concert with his daughter in Charlotte, North Carolina on Friday night, FOX Sports reported.

The three attackers had allegedly been drinking heavily before they assaulted Wallace in the parking lot of Charlotte's PNC Pavilion. Then, Wallace's daughter, Lindsey Wallace Van Wingerden, reportedly came to her father's defense to shield him from the assailants. She suffered kicks to her ribs as well.

The trio was arrested by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police, early Saturday morning. The motives behind the attack and the Lindsey's current medical status are both unclear at press time.

Wallace reported that the men fled the scene in a white truck with Lucas Landscaping logos, which is based in Indian Trail, North Carolina, Motorsport.com reports. Mike's brother and FOX Sports analyst Kenny Wallace stated that Mike suffered repeated kicks to the head while unconscious, and shared graphic images of Mike Wallace’s face and his daughter on a stretcher on his Facebook page . Mike received 12 stitches inside of the mouth and was released from the hospital, according to FOX Sports. Kenny Wallace detailed his grief on Facebook:

I am "tore up" and "sick to my stomach" about my brother "Mike" and his daughter Lindsey Wallace Van Wingerden and everyone involved in this senseless ass beating after a concert in Charlotte NC on Friday night .. My brother Mike laid on the ground "knocked out" and it was NOT even a fight and 3 men kept kicking my "knocked out" brother in the face.. Think about it? .. My brother was knocked out and they were kicking him in the face... I AM SO FUCKING MAD!!

Kenny also made a series of tweets for help after the attack calling for the local media's attention:

All three men were released on $1,000 bond. The first hearing for the case is set for July 22 in Mecklenburg County District Court.
