Floyd Mayweather has spent some time working with Justin Bieber in the boxing ring in the past. The two have also grown remarkably close over the course of the last few years with Bieber accompanying Mayweather to the ring several times and even taking a trip to Bora Bora with him after Mayweather officially retired from boxing in 2015. So who better to ask about the fight Biebs got into following Game 3 of the NBA Finals on Wednesday than Mayweather?

TMZ Sportscaught up with the retired boxer early Thursday, and while it doesn't really sound like Mayweather spent a whole lot of time analyzing the fight that Bieber was involved in, he was more than happy to give him credit for not backing down from it. He told TMZ Sports that Biebs “showed heart” by getting into the fight, which reportedly took place outside of a hotel in Cleveland at around 11 p.m. on Wednesday and featured Biebs going toe-to-toe with a guy who was much bigger than him.

“I don’t know why he’s fighting,” Mayweather told TMZ Sports, “but he’s ready. At the end of the day, people will say what they want to say. Justin Bieber ain’t no bitch. He showed he got heart. He showed he ain’t no bitch, so it’s all respect.”

It’s still unclear what started the fight that Bieber was involved in, but you can watch footage of it here. You can also check out the clip above to hear Mayweather talk more about the fight.
