Washington Nationals outfielder and reigning NL MVP Bryce Harper is the best hitter in baseball today and opposing pitchers have every right to be afraid of throwing him something in the strike zone.

Harper keeps tying hitting records and reaching new milestones this season by smacking home runs off of whichever team his Nationals are facing. Last month, he hit his first career grand slam and became the eighth youngest player to reach 100 home runs in the majors.

Harper finished a four-game series against the Chicago Cubs Sunday and it's clear the opposing team was well aware of the zone he's been in. Harper is such a fearsome hitters the Cubs refused to pitch to him.

Harper reached base seven times without getting a single hit during Sunday's game. You can credit that milestone to fear. The Cubs walked Harper a total of six times hit him with a pitch once. In the process, Harper tied and broke a couple MLB records.

Harper becomes the only player in MLB history to reach base seven times without getting a hit.

He also tied the league record with six walks in a single game. There have only been 3 players in MLB history to get walked that many times in one game. The last was Jeff Bagwell in 1999.

Harper was walked a whopping 13 times total in the past four games against the Cubs. That sets a new high for a player in a single series.

The Cubs ending up winning the game 4-3 with a walk-off homer anyway—giving the Cubs three games out of four in this series. But the highlight of the game still came from a guy who didn't get even a single hit.
