Muslim Boxer Amir Khan: Upcoming Fight Could Be My Last in U.S. Because of Trump

Khan is set to fight Mexican boxer Canelo Alvarez.

When Amir Khan and Canelo Alvarez square off at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegast his weekend, it may very well be the final time you see them stateside. Before leaving the podium at today's press conference, Khan told reporters, "This could be the last fight for me and Canelo here. That’s if Donald Trump becomes president."

Khan, a Muslim born in the U.K., has clearly heard Trump's call for "a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States." During Wednesday's press conference, Canelo briefly discussed The Donald's stance towards Mexicans in the U.S. “I don’t want to get involved in political issues, but it hurts and it offends. I want him to understand that when I go out running, I see a lot of my countrymen working hard in the fields," he said, according to The Mirror. "They’ve not come here to rob and steal. We want to show him that we Mexicans come here to succeed and to be victorious."

Golden Boy Promotions founder Oscar De La Hoya revealed that Trump will be in attendance on Saturday.
