Not Available Lead

In case all the cyclists from the Tour De France getting popped over the years didn't convince you, Miami Marlins second baseman Dee Gordon should remind you that an athlete doesn't need to "fail the eye test" to be on PEDs. Last year's NL batting champ (and hits leader) was suspended for 80 games after testing positive for exogenous testosterone and the anabolic steroid clostebol. The news was revealed by MLB in the wee hours of Friday morning.

The 28-year-old Gordon is in his sixth year in the Major Leagues and had been an All-Star in both 2014 and 2015. In addition to leading the entire Majors in hits last season (with 205) he's also led the league in stolen bases in each of those past two years. His suspension will cost him roughly $1.65 million and will also result in a 2016 postseason ban (which seems unlikely to affect the Marlins, but who knows?).
